We strongly recommend training in small groups. It is more cost-effective and provides greater overall benefit for players. While some athletes may benefit from an occasional one-on-one shooting session, consistent development and well-rounded basketball growth are best achieved through small group training.
Our sessions range from $40 per player in a small group setting to $100 for a one-on-one session, depending on the length of the lesson. Pricing may vary based on trainer travel, gym rental costs, and location.
For the most cost-effective option, we recommend coming to our scheduled training times when available.
All of our coaches maintain up-to-date child abuse clearances and criminal background checks, which we are happy to provide upon request. As a basketball training organization, the safety and well-being of your child is our highest priority.
In addition, our coaches are certified in CPR and First Aid to ensure a safe and prepared training environment at all times.
Team Training is when our coaching staff comes directly to your program. We work with your entire team and coaching staff to introduce high-level drills, advanced concepts, and proven techniques designed to elevate your program’s overall performance.
We have successfully partnered with championship programs including the 3x WPIAL Champion Rochester Rams, the WPIAL Champion Peters Township Indians, and the South Side Area Rams — who captured their first section title in school history after training with us.
There are plenty of training options in Pittsburgh — but we are the most consistent. We have never shut down, never left the city for other opportunities, and we remain fully committed to developing players right here at home.
Serious players in the area have seen the other programs. They choose Gym Rat because we deliver results. Our track record, longevity, and proven player development speak for themselves.
And yes — many of today’s newer trainers in the area were once trained by us.
